Life is full of opportunity.  Leadership is about taking those opportunities.  Legacy is what you will leave behind when you do.”                 author unknown

As I write this message, I’m searching for words to express how grateful I am for the leadership, friendship and commitment I have received from our Board of Directors, Advisory Council, Committee Chairs and members at large as I am approaching the end of my

5th month serving as your 2022 President.  So, I want to begin by saying thank you…yes, simple words but packed with intense heartfelt meaning.  I appreciate each and every one of our members…we couldn’t be a driving force in the business community without you!
Regrettably, I need to let you know that Daniel Sohn is no longer serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Sonoma County Alliance.  Daniel is focusing on his consulting business through his lobbying firm and we wish him the very best.  The Officers and Board of Directors are convening this week to develop our plans to fill our Executive position.  In the interim Brian Ling has agreed to assist with some of the day-to-day operations while we implement our strategy to identify our next CEO.  We thank you in advance for your continued support and please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.

As the season is gearing up for graduations, weddings and summertime fun, I encourage all of you to join the Sonoma County Alliance at some of our upcoming events.  Information is below and you can sign up for these events at

  • June 1st – Our next GMM, featuring graduating students from High School & the SRJC, moderated by Jason Lea, SCOE.
  • June 4th – Join our DEI committee as they walk in the Sonoma Pride Parade.
  • June 16th – Attend the annual SCAPAC Legislative Reception at the Jackson Family Wine Center
  • June 25th – Join our Education Committee at the annual Bocce for Books fundraiser on June 25th at Taft Street Winery.

Thank you again for supporting the Sonoma County Alliance and we look forward to seeing you soon.
